Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin

If you have twins, you need a double pushchair to get them from A to B. Our range includes twin good prams and buggies that can be set up in various ways to meet your requirements.

Side-by-Side

This is the most commonly used double pushchair. It can usually seat two children side-by-side. They are usually larger than single pushchairs. This makes them less maneuverable on paths. It can also be difficult to maneuver up and down kerbs when the car seat is in place. However, the extra width does mean that they're usually easier to navigate through doors and are more evenly distributed making them less burdensome on your back.

Many models are able to be used as twin prams and will take a carrycot, or two car seats. Some can even be converted to one-mode with the basket (like the Cybex Venus).

This creates a completely enclosed space for twins and is ideal for newborns. It's not as lightweight as some other options however it's very cleverly designed.

Cybex is known for its ingenuity, and this single-to-double pushchair is no different. Its innovative frame expands widthways to take a second seat, and you can use it as a twin right from birth with the addition of two infant cocoons (PS59 each) that provide enclosed, lie-flat areas for infants. It can also be used in an individual mode with only one child due to a large basket that sits behind the seat. Tandem

If you're planning to have twins, you should consider a pushchair that can allow the children to sit close to each other, so they can look at each one another. They are perfect for visiting the zoo since the kids can look at the animals together. These are also great for parents who wish to monitor both their toddler and their baby simultaneously.

Some tandem pushchairs are very adaptable, as they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful when you're planning to have more than two kids (or only your oldest child doesn't need a buggy anymore). It means you won't have an empty pushchair that you need to store away which can be expensive.

The Cybex Venus, for example is a model that can be used in double or mono mode. Its frame can expand to accommodate a second seat. It's not the tiniest pushchair, but it has an enormous basket that can be set behind the front seat in double mode, or at the back if in mono mode. The seats can be positioned in a way that they face each the other or higher to see what each is doing.

They are sleek and compact frame that makes it easier to maneuver through doorways and aisles of supermarkets and some models can be used as a jogging or stroller on rough terrain thanks to a four-wheel suspension and wide rear wheels.

Another advantage of a tandem pushchair is that it can often take two carrycots, or a car seat and a buggy seat. This allows you to build a travel system right from the beginning and save money on additional purchases. Remember that tandems are heavier and longer and may be less stable when bumping up kerbs and going over uneven surfaces. These pushchairs must also be dismantled for fitting into cars.
